Hey you guys! Guess what? We've installed the countertops in the office!

After cutting the countertops, installing them only took about an hour. We wanted to connect the countertops in the corner to create one solid piece. Our goal was to create a system in which we could tighten the two countertop pieces together to minimize the gap at the seam between them, and we used some great tips from my dad to do this! First, we placed both pieces on the floor upside down and roughly lined them up.

We hit a small milestone in the office this week...countertops!

They really pull things together don't they? It was a little awkward looking without them haha.

We went with solid wood HAMMARP beech countertops from Ikea, the exact same one we have on the dry bar. To get all the pieces we needed, we had to get three of the longer 98-inch countertops (diagrams of this below).

There’s A Finished Dry Bar in Our House

Hey guys! It’s been a little while huh? The Engineer and I put our house improvements on hold to focus on some other things. After our big push getting the sod in, we had family from out of town visiting and we took some time to enjoy their company and then some more time to enjoy life.

Some of that time enjoying life was spent celebrating our one year wedding anniversary! Yup, one year on the nose today. It’s been the best year and I can’t believe The Engineer and I shared our wedding vows one year ago.
